History of Luxury Watches
Originally, wristwatches had a mechanical pendulum mechanism operated by spring force. These watches were, so to speak, pulls once a day, which tuned the spring of the clock so that the clock could continue to run continuously. In the 1960s, automatic or self-driving clocks that tuned their springs with the help of hand movement became widespread. In the 1970s, electronic machines based on quartz crystal vibrations, significantly more precise than mechanical machinery, began to dominate the market. The advent of cheap but accurate Japanese quartz watches on the market brought the Swiss traditional watch industry into a deep crisis. In recent years, the prestige and popularity of mechanical watches in the more expensive price category has increased.
